Ida Applebroog was my first real art influence. I love the textures, imagery, and compositional quality of her paintings. When I first saw her work, it wasn't what she was trying to communicate that attracted me, but the aesthetics. After the initial admiration, I liked her work even more due to the provactive implications of her pieces.
